Etiquette Is Important When Giving Wedding Speeches And Toasts

Post wedding ceremony and while the wedding reception is taking place, the people in the wedding party, along with other guests have the opportunity to raise a cup and offer up a wedding toast. These speeches and toasts are a time honored part of wedding celebrations and offer a chance to honor the bride and groom. Wedding toasts can written up before the event or just as likely be spontaneous expressions of love and happiness for the couple.

But there are usually a few loose rules to follow.

Don't run on, in the area of 3 to 5 minutes is a good goal.

If you are giving the speech or toast stand-up, don't sit.

Keep the humor in good taste and clean, there are certainly going to be children there.

State your name and your relation to the couple, not everyone will know who you are.

Be positive, don't let negative ideas sneak in.

Have fun with it.
